Little Havana Food Tour
Taste authentic Cuban cuisine while learning about Little Havana’s culture and heritage. This exciting Little Havana Food & Cultural Tour explores the rich history and culinary delights of a vibrant neighborhood. We will taste authentic Cuban cuisine and listen to the stories behind those doing the cooking. We’ll learn about spiritual beliefs the community practices including Santeria, visit a cigar factory, explore Domino Park and The Cuba Ocho Art Museum.
And - We will savor some of the Best Bites in Town such as a picadillo-stuffed empanada at one of the oldest restaurants in the area. Filled with rustic charm and graced by a large illustration of Cuba across the walls, this establishment forms part of the daily routine of most Little Havana locals. Although the El Pub Restaurant isn’t La Bodeguita in Cuba, Hemingway’s favorite watering hole, the drink at this local Taverna is as close as you can get without a passport. Virgin drinks are also available.
Next we’ll visit the Ball and Chain, an authentic Cubano restaurant painted with music memorabilia from Cuba’s glorious past. According to the Travel Channel, you must have a Ventanita - This dark, potent liquid is Miami’s everyday fuel. Similar to an espresso, this ultra-sweet and revitalizing shot of energy is a Cuban staple. For a sweet bite we’ll sample a guava pastelito from the Yisell Bakery. All this and so much more! What a fun and delicious way to learn about our Cuban neighbors.

Everglades National Park
We start our adventure with an exciting Airboat Ride at Everglades Safari Park. The Park was recently acquired by the National Park Service and is now part of the Everglades National Park system operated by knowledgeable park rangers. Lunch following our ride will be right there in the Park. Next we’re off for our two-hour Everglades Tram Tour through the Shark Valley section of the Everglades. Park naturalists escort and narrate all tours, and besides giving insight into the ecosystem as a whole, our naturalist will point out “hidden” aspects of the Everglades that help make this a world-renowned wetlands. The open vehicles used on the tram tours allow wildlife viewing within the sawgrass prairies on either side of the tram. At the halfway point of our tour, a 45-foot high observation deck provides the opportunity to enjoy the tranquil vistas of the Everglades, which extend outward 20 miles in all directions. A gradually sloped ramp provides easy access to the observation tower deck. Comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen are recommended.

Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp & Rivertown Vintage Market & Mini-Reading
Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp is a 122 year old community of spiritually-minded people located in Central Florida. Join us to learn about the town’s historic, unique and mysterious beginnings, its unusual architecture, and the spirit activity that still goes on in the homes of present day mediums. Cassadaga, dubbed, “The Psychic Capital of the World,” is no ordinary place. The story of Cassadaga is strange and shrouded in mystery. Its unusual beginnings all started with a small boy, baptized in the frigid waters of Minnesota, and a rather pushy Indian spirit guide named Seneca. During the winter of 1860, when George was twelve, he was baptized in a nearby lake so frozen a hole needed to be cut in the ice. Shortly after, George claimed to be visited by the spirit of his uncle who told him he was a great psychic and would later found a great spiritual center in the south. To hear the rest of the story join us on this interesting day as we take an historical, walking tour of this mysterious town. To make our day even more fascinating, each participant will be treated to a fifteen minute mini-reading by an authentic Cassadaga spiritualist. Lunch is included, and after our readings, if time permits, we’ll visit the Marketplace at Rivertown, a unique mall featuring Antique - Mid Century - Shabby Chic and Vintage items of all kinds.
