About Us
The dream came true in April of 1997 with the formation of Goodtime Getaways, a travel company that, at the time, specialized in motor coach tours primarily for seniors. We’ve now expanded to offer a diversity of day trips, adventure and foreign travel, and cruises for both groups and individuals.

It all started while employed by the Indian River County Council on Aging as activities and senior center director. Through that agency a co-op travel program was developed with the Vero Beach/Indian River County Recreation Department. At the time, my sister, Bobbi Burdick, was employed by the City as director of senior activities and had initiated excursions for her senior groups. We joined forces and graduated to planning cruises and extended tours as fund raising projects for both agencies.

The traveling portion of my job was so much fun I decided to undertake it as a full time vocation, resigned my position with the Council and opened my own agency. Initially I operated out of the Indian River County Historical Society’s train museum in downtown Vero on the corner of 14th Avenue and 23rd Street. I’m now on the Board of Directors for the museum and still use the train station as one of our primary pick up and departure locations.

Through the years I’ve received a lot of support from many people - my husband who not only keeps our computers running, but also built our beautiful office building, Hilltop. If you haven’t seen our office, stop by and say hello, we’d love to see you. My friend and Spanish Lakes Fairways representative, Dora Sabol, takes reservations and collects payments from her neighbors, saving them the trouble of sending checks or coming by the office. I’ve also been fortunate to have had the guidance of a few great motor coach operators who through their experience have provided invaluable information on unfamiliar destinations; Carmine Iorio and John Giraldo.
